The CellASIC Manifold is used in conjunction with the microfluidic plates to allow flow control during experimentation. The manifold is set on top of the wells of the plate, and forms an air tight seal using a vacuum mechanism. Each well of the plate is then separately addressed with pneumatic pressure to drive liquids into the microfluidic channels. The manifold and plate assembly fits into standard 96-well plate holders on any inverted microscope. The glass coverslide on the bottom of the microfluidic plate enables crystal clear high magnification imaging. An imaging window cut through the manifold further improves optical clarity. |

The ONIX comes with the Function Generator (FG) software for for direct and intuitive control of the electronic pressure regulators and solenoid valves. The user friendly design allows any researcher to operate CellASIC microfluidic plates with a minimal learning curve. The FG software also enables programmable, "hands-free" flow sequencing. This feature is a must-have for experiments where timing of flow switching is critical, as well as long time lapse experiments when constant user supervision is not feasible.
